Presentation at Design Education Conference, Indianapolis, IN

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health came to the graphic design communication program at Jefferson University and asked us to help them solve communication issues around heat emergency preparedness and resilience in Philadelphia. The students responded to this complex topic with unique system based solutions that evolved from a process based in design thinking. Through an intensive research and testing process, students produced deliverables working across many forms of communication media with an embrace of speculative technology. Along with colleagues Beth Shirrell and Renée Walker, Kradel-Weitzel presented this unique project at the AIGA Conference: MAKE, held in Indianapolis, Indiana.
